Woodpecker in my backyard

Hey there how's it going. I took this picture a couple of days ago in my backyard with my Nikon D40 with a 55-200mm lens. It is a woodpecker on the side of a tree. The picture turned better than I thought it would because it was getting dark and I had the flash turned off because what good is a flash at 30 feet, so the shutter speed was slow and I just happened to be able to hold the camera very still! On the day that I took this picture I just went outside in hope of something like a squirrel or a odd looking bird would be in range of my 55-200mm lens, and what do you know! A woodpecker showed up fairly close to me. So I went ahead and took the picture. I was very happy to see that it came out very clear. I only wish I could of gotten more under the bird and got a behind shot, probably would of been more interesting!
Comment: If you click on the picture you can notice that the camera was focused on something other than the bird! I guess that is what I get for trying to let the camera focus for me:(

10/02/09-Two PSPs With White Background

This is a picture of two PSPs that I own. What inspired me to do this picture is they were laying right next to each other and I thought in my head that it would be an interesting first picture. These PSPs are quite different from each other. One of them(that be the black one) is the first model of PSP that came out. The other one(what other than the silver one) Is the newest out(today 10/02/09). So I said hey man why not show the true beauties of the old timer and of the new magnificent PSP Slim. Your either wondering how I got the white background or you didn't notice it, but not to worry either way I am going to tell you how I did it. I just set the PSPs on top of a green piece of paper. Then I took many pictures(roughly 60) until it came out just like I wanted it. then I uploaded the photo onto my computer. I dragged the photo into Adobe Photoshop($500-700 depending on where you live) and used the program to cut out the green. Not hard at all!

What I Will Do On This Blog

I have made this blog because I like photography and would like to share mine with you. I am not very good but I hope to GET BETTER BY YOUR COMMENTS. I will do creative things and I will "reenact" other interesting things I see on the internet. After most sets of pictures I will tell you about the pictures and why I did/what inspired me to do that picture. Thank you and enjoy!
